What is the right plant for the right pot anyway? The answer is whatever plant you want in whatever pot you want. There is no rule for that. A rule you should follow though is getting the right soil for the plant, if not it will look like you have a brown thumb :( If you are going to spend the money for the plants you might as well go all the way to insure, well, give yourself the best chance for success.
Some flowers and plants are very high maintenance, they are for those for people who love to tinker with their prize plants and flowers, others want to do as little as possible ( like myself ) and just enjoy the view, we need the low maintenance variety. The maintenance required and what you are willing to do are very important questions to ask ourselves and to be honest about it. I know sometimes it is difficult to be honest about who we really are, but if we are not, failure IS an option.
We have all walked through a nursery and thought wow that looks great, I love it, I must have it. If we did not ask the questions we might as well have said
“ wow that looks great! I love it, I must have it, I will take it home and kill it. If you don’t know what you’re planting it does not matter how cool the garden planter is, dead plants are dead plants. Choose wisely, it will make all the difference in the world in how your plants and flowers look and how much you enjoy them.
Around here I have very little say what goes into the garden planters, and I am ok with that, especially when I see the results. Wendy decided some time ago she was going to plant some succulents, I am like "what are those"? Well as you can see from the photo they are pretty cool, well I think so anyway. I had no idea there are so many different varieties. Now she will find a cool garden planter and put together an arrangement for a gift, and it is a great gift, because they take very little maintenance. It is the time of year, so get yourself a cool garden planter and get out there and plant your favorite plant or flower.
See you next week
