A new addition to backyard water fountains got me thinking of those wonderful camping trips as a kid. We are very happy to announce that we now carry firejoe fire pits from snowjoe / sunjoe. As you can see from the pics below these are some very nice fire pits. These will surely be a centerpiece of you yard or patio. Snowjoe / sunjoe carries a wide variety of items for the yard, from mowers to power washers, trimmers, etc. Be sure to check them out for your outdoor summer or winter maintenance needs.
I will admit that my days of camping have passed for the most part, well maybe just passed, the ground is a lot harder these days. Camping was one of the go to trips when I was kid. Days on the lake skiing and tubing, riding bikes, and fires by night. Money was tight so camping was usually our vacation for the year, which was ok with us kids.
We would head out to a place called Collins Lake. This was back in the 70’s ( oops I dated myself there ). Collins was a privately owned lake and we new everybody that worked there. It is a smaller lake with warm water, perfect for skiing. At the end of the day mom would send us off to the coin operated showers. I remember even as a kid I loved taking a shower there, it just seemed so cool for some reason. I don’t know if you have ever experienced a coin op shower but it can be quite interesting especially depending when you have to put in another quarter! After a shower we would head up to the store for the biggest ice cream cone you could imagine. Then it was time to sit at the fire. The fire pit was an old wash tub loaded with wood, Too tired to do anything but stare at it, the fire would dance us off to bed.
I imagine a lot of you have your summer camping trip planned. I hope it is as enjoyable and memorable as ours were. Don’t forget something to build a fire in.
See you next week
